Pancakes and Motorcycles

May 3, 2008

Debbie has been on bed-rest for a week, so I’ve been taking care of her. Here are some of the meals I’ve made in this time:

Tilapia Picatta on Lime/Cilantro Rice
Fried Chicken and Baked Pom Frite
Chicken Tostadas
Steak, Baked Potatoes, Salad
Campbell’s Select Chicken Soup
Oscar Mayer Hot Dogs with Herr’s Potato Chips
Club Sandwiches with Herr’s Potato Chips
Hungry Man Pancakes with a side of ham

Of all these meals, the pancakes turned out to be the tastiest meal. My first time to try the Hungry Man brand of pancake. I have to say, they were the best pancakes I’ve ever made. I’ll be hard-pressed to go back to fancier, whole grain, organic pancakes.

I called the Ducati dealership about my non-starting Ducati Sport Classic. They recommended trickle-charging the battery. Duh. I hooked it up yesterday. We shall see if it starts tomorrow. Why is it that the more modern, fuel-injected bike is the one that’s being difficult? The older, carburetted Monster, in it’s 5th year with me, started like a champ. I love this bike.

Fancy pancakes and motorcycles are not as good as simple pancakes and motorcycles.

* We bought about fifty 25-cent snack-sized bags to give away as part of out Philly-wedding-goody-bag, but we ran out of time to put these together. So here they are. Guess you can never have too many potato chips.
